Oct 10, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Finance will deliver the budget for the year 2014 to the parliament on November 21.
The Cabinet has noted the proposed parliamentary programme for the Appropriation Bill - 2014 and accordingly the Appropriation Bill will be presented to Parliament on October 22.
The President will deliver the budget speech in parliament on November 21.
According to the government, the 2014 budget is looking at bringing down the deficit to 5.2 percent from 6.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product.
Trade unions, youth movements and other business entities presented proposals to the Finance Ministry to be included in the 2014 budget.
