Oct 10, Colombo: Sri Lanka's cricket governing authority, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has called for proposals from the island's cricket clubs to develop the infrastructure and the sport at those clubs.
The Executive Committee has recently met with all the Controlling and Affiliated Clubs and requested them to submit proposals in order to develop the infrastructure and the development of cricket of their respective clubs, the SLC said.
The Committee also took into consideration those clubs without grounds and other facilities and provision was made to cover the cost of practice facilities and away matches.
The clubs have forwarded their proposals of their planned projects to the Executive Committee for their perusal.
National Development Committee headed by SLC President SLC Jayantha Dharmadasa has compiled a document based on all the proposed projects and the Executive Committee has decided to provide the grants to the Clubs.
SLC President and Secretary along with the officials of the Executive Committee had distributed the grants to the clubs.
Sri Lanka Cricket would monitor the projects which will be carried out at the respective clubs.
