Oct 09, Colombo: Somawansa Amarasinghe, the leader of Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), has hinted that major changes would take place in the party in the near future.
Amarasinghe told a private radio station that the party and its programme would take a new outlook shortly.
He explained that positions in the JVP are not aimed at enjoying personal benefits.
"This is the key difference between the JVP and other parties. We never expect personal glory from the responsibilities vested on us," Amarasinghe noted.
"Our party assigns responsibilities according to the capabilities of people," he added.
The JVP Leader noted that the party would nevertheless be subjected to major changes very soon.
