Oct 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will launch a book on the history of the trade union movement in the country.
The JVP will launch the book on the 10th of this month at the Public Library Auditorium. The book launch will be held under the patronage of JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva, party sources said.
JVP sources said that the people need to know the history of the trade union movement in the country and the struggles that have been carried out to win rights for the working masses.
"Working people need to know their rights and the importance of standing up for what is rightfully theirs despite attempts to suppress the trade union movement," sources said, adding that workers' struggles would continue as long as the country is ruled by capitalists.
