Oct 04, Colombo: The newly elected Chief Minister for Sri Lanka's Northern Province C.V. Vigneswaran will take oaths before President Mahinda Rajapaksa on October 7 at Temple Trees.
Vigneswaran, a former Supreme Court judge was elected as Chief Minister of the Northern Province from the main Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance, at the provincial council elections held on September 21.
The party has not made its elections on the Ministers of the Provincial Council yet and the party will hold a discussion on assigning minsiters will be held tomorrow, a council member-elect said.
Meanwhile, the TNA leader R Sampanthan met President Rajapaksa this morning at Temple Trees. The President's office said the MP had discussed about the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of the Council before President Rajapaksa.
