Oct 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka's DFCC Bank has appointed Arjun Fernando as the new General Manager / Chief Executive officer and he assumed duties today, a stock market disclosure announced.
Fernando will join the DFCC as an ex-officio director with effect from today. He is succeeding Nihal Fonseka who relinquished his position as an ex-officio director on 30th September.
Fonseka will continue to serve as an adviser to the Board in a non-executive capacity for a further period, the stock market disclosure said.
Fernando was the Deputy Chief Executive of the Bank, prior to his new promotion.
The 54-year-old officer holds a BS degree in Engineering from Southern Illinois University and an MS in Management from Clemson University in South Carolina in US.
Fernando has 29 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry in executive and managerial positions.
