Nov 03, Colombo: Transport authorities in Sri Lanka have introduced new regulations for three-wheelers and taxi cabs in the Western Province.
The Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority has issued 30 rules for the three wheelers and taxi cabs in the Province to follow.
The new regulations require three wheelers and taxi cabs to clearly display a formula on fares for the notice of passengers.
It has also been made compulsory for three-wheelers and taxi cabs to fix a fare meter and to follow regulations issued from time to time regarding the fare meter.
The new regulations have also reiterated that the number of passengers carried in a three wheeler or a taxi cab should not exceed the allowed number of passengers.
The Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority has stated that the new regulations will help streamline the passenger transport services in the Province.
