Nov 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka's cabinet of Ministers will have a very serious discussion on education at the next cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on November 06, government sources said.
The cabinet is slated to take a crucial decision at the meeting regarding the Grade 5 Scholarship examination. Sources say that the government will decide to change the Grade 5 Scholarship examination which has a great impact on the mind of the primary student.
Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa has paid attention to the pressure from the highly competitive examination on a 10 year old student. A student needs to get around 80 percent of marks to pass the examination to qualify for admission to elite schools.
Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena submitted a report to the cabinet meeting yesterday on the Grade 5 scholarship examination.
