Nov 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) says that based on this year's Korean Language Proficiency Examination scores 2,526 Sri Lankans have qualified for employment in South Korea.
Those who obtained scores above 148 out of 200 have been qualified for jobs in the industrial sector, said Amal Senadhilankara, the Chairman of SLBFE. The cut-off mark for the construction sector is 92 while 80 is the cut-off mark for the fisheries sector.
The Korean Language Proficiency Examination was held in five centers in Colombo on October 19 and 20 and 18,466 applicants took the exam.
The results of the examination were released November 01.
Many Sri Lankan people look for jobs in Korea due to the high salary in the fast developing Asian country. Approximately 23,000 Sri Lankans are employed in Korea.
