Nov 02, Colombo: A movement in Sri Lanka has organized a national seminar that would oppose the setting up of casinos in the country.
The event, organized by the National Council of Intellectuals, will be held on Wednesday (6) evening at the New Town Hall in Colombo.
The organizers have said that the seminar would be held under the theme of saying no to casinos that pave the way for a criminal economy which would destroy morals and culture of the country.
A group of intellectuals and religious leaders will address the public on the ills of setting up casinos in the country.
Among the speakers at the event are Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero and JHU MP Ven. Athuraliye Ratana Thero.
The National Council of Intellectuals has said that the movement to would carry out the campaign outside Colombo as well.
