* Sri Lanka to add 53 more LLRC recommendations in National Action Plan

July 04, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has decided to add 53 more recommendations made by the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) to the National Action Plan established to implement the LLRC recommendations.

Those 53 recommendations were not included in the initial stage National Action Plan prepared last July to implement the LLRC recommendations since a majority of the recommendations overlap with other recommendations or form part of the recommendations contained in the National Human Rights Action Plan.

However, Sri Lankan President has made a proposal to include those recommendations in the LLRC National Action Plan in order to fully represent the recommendations stated in the LLRC Report and the cabinet has given its approval.
