* Sri Lanka's Northwestern and Central Provincial Councils to be dissolved tomorrow

July 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka government sources say that the Northwestern and Central Provincial Councils will be dissolved Friday (July 05) midnight.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has held a special discussion with the Ministers and the Members of Parliament of these provinces last night (July 03).

The gazette notification to establish the Northern Provincial Council is also to be issued tomorrow with the signature of the President, government sources say.

The Election Commissioner will declare the election for the Northern Provincial Council after that, the sources say adding that the elections may be held either September 21 or 28.
