* Indian Navy arrests four Sri Lankans reached without documents

Dec 31,Rameswaram: Indian Navy today arrested four Sri Lankans for reaching the country without proper documents and seized their fiber glass boat, Indian media reported.

The four people included three in a family with a toddler and the boat operator. They were arrested while getting off from the boat off Dhanushkodi coast.

The arrested have been identified as Nirmalan, his wife Nishandhini, their one-year-old son Dickson and boat operator Kandhasamy.

The couple has told the Indian naval personnel that they wanted to come to India as their parents in Sri Lanka opposed their marriage. They also confessed that the boat fitted with two engines was a stolen one.
