* Sri Lanka Tourism launches new promotional song "Paradise Calling"

Dec 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka Tourism has launched a new promotional song highlighting all major attractions in Sri Lanka.

The new promotional song titled "Paradise Calling - The Wonder of Asia" was ceremoniously launched at a function recently held at "Ape Gama" in Battaramulla under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Economic Development M.L.A.M Hizbullah.

The launching ceremony was held with the participation of more than 24 young vocalists and many distinguished guests representing travel and tourism industry of Sri Lanka.

The song's musical concept and direction was done by the famous pop duo Bathiya and Santhush. The lyrics were written by veteran song writer Kelum Srimal. The song contains lyrics in all three official languages to appeal to a wider audience both locally and internationally.

In addition to the major attractions, the song also covers the heritage, lifestyle, hospitality, culture, natural beauty and the warmth of Sri Lankan people.

The new song will be used for all Sri Lanka Tourism promotional activities to uphold the numerous tourism attractions and value of Sri Lanka as a travelerís paradise, the Tourism Board said. The Board is also planning to produce this song in many languages in the future.
