* Sri Lanka Police commence investigation into human skeletal remains unearthed in Mannar

Dec 21, Mannar: Sri Lanka Police have commenced an extensive probe into the human skeletal remains that have been unearthed in Mannar, in the Northern Province.

The police investigation has commenced after human skeletal remains of several individulas were unearthed from a road that leads to the Thirukethiswaram kovil in Mannar.

A group of workers engaged in renovating the road had unearthed the human skeletal remains and had informed the Mannar Police.

The Police Spokesperson's office said that several human skeletal remains including three complete human skulls have been unearthed at the location.

The police said that the Mannar Police are conducting the investigation and that a magisterial inquiry will also be held.
