* Jewels 2013 Gem and Jewellery Exhibition declared open in Sri Lanka

Dec 20, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy Susil Premajayantha declared open the Jewels 2013 Gem and Jewellery Exhibition and Competition today at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).

The exhibition is aimed at providing a platform for gem and jewellery buyers and sellers to explore Sri Lanka's best Gemological Crystals, Gemstones, Fashioned Gemstones, Jewellery and Photographs, the organizers say.

This event will bring together the local exhibitors - producers and sellers and the international buyers on the same platform to create an opportunity for local manufactures to exhibit and sell their products and enhance the global exposure.

The Gem and Jewellery Show is jointly hosted by Sri Lanka National Gem and Jewellery Authority and Gemologists Association of Sri Lanka.

This is the 6th consecutive year the exhibition is held. It will be held until December 22.
