* Sri Lanka police find no evidence of government minister threatening his wife

Dec 12, Colombo: A police investigation has not found any evidence of a Sri Lankan government minister threatening his wife, the police media unit said today.

The Special Investigations Unit of Police Headquarters has conducted an investigation on a complaint lodged by Asha Aluthgamage, the wife of Sports Minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage.

Ms. Aluthgamage, in a letter directed to the Inspector General of Police on November 21, has complained that her husband, Minister Aluthgamage made threats against her.

The police media unit issuing a statement said the investigations have revealed that the wife of the minister was not threatened directly or indirectly by the minister or by proxy via telephone or any other manner.
