* Recruitment of Teacher trainees to the national colleges of education of Sri Lanka on district basis

Dec 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka Ministry of Education has decided to recruit teacher trainees to the country's national colleges of education under a new system.

Accordingly, the recruitment will be carried out on a district basis. The trainees will be granted appointments in their residential districts after the three year professional training.

The Ministry of Education has decided to assess the number of vacancies in each district and recruit only the number needed for the districts to be trained in the national colleges of education.

The students who score the highest z-score at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination will be taken to the colleges of education from the same district.

The Ministry of Education recruits around 3,000 students as teacher trainees to the Colleges of Education.
