* Working Committee of Sri Lanka main opposition party meets today to discuss proposals for convention

Dec 10, Colombo: The Working Committee of Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) will discuss the proposals to be presented at the party's next convention when the committee meets today (10).

The Working Committee will meet under party leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and the members will discuss the proposals for the UNP convention to be held on the 21st of this month.

UNP Spokesperson, parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilaka said that the proposals to be presented at the next party convention have already been prepared and will be taken up for Working Committee approval today.

He added that proposals that are not discussed and approved by the Working Committee today will not be entertained at the convention on the 21st.

It is learnt that the newly appointed Leadership Council that is to make decisions on the party stances will also be discussed at today's meeting in order to present it to the party convention.
