Dec 06, Delft: Sri Lankan Navy personnel have rescued four fishermen from Tamil Nadu who were in distress after their boat capsized in rough seas due to an engine failure.
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Wasaba of the Northern Naval Command Thursday (Dec 05) rescued the four fishermen from Jagadapattinam, India in the seas west of Sri Lanka's Delft Island.
The fishermen were brought ashore and provided them with food and medical treatment, the Navy said.
The Navy handed the fishermen y over to Delft Police for further investigations.
Mallagam magistrate court today ordered the fishermen to be remanded until December 19 after they were produced in court.
