Dec 04, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today appointed the Deputy Solicitor General of the Attorney General's Department President Counsel Buwaneka Aluwihare as a Judge of the Supreme Court. He was sworn in by the President at the Temple Trees this afternoon.
Aluwihare, whose career expands over 30 years at the Attorney-Generalís Department, has worked on a number of high-profile cases related to political violence and terrorism. He has also served as a prosecutor for the UN's Serious Crimes Investigation Unit.
