Aug 20, Kandy: The visiting Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand and Japan's Princess Tsuguko of Takamado separately visited the Sri Dalada Maligawa, the most sacred Temple of the Tooth today in Kandy.
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa accompanied the visiting royals.
Both Princesses met the Diyawadana Nilame (Custodian) of the Dalada Maligawa.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand (above) and Japan's Princess Tsuguko of Takamado (below) met the Diyawadana Nilame of the Dalada Maligawa Nilanga Dela today.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn arrived in the country Monday on a four-day visit at the invitation of President Rajapaksa.
During her visit she is scheduled to tour Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Peradeniya Botanical garden and Nuwara Eliya areas.
Japan's Princess Tsuguko of Takamado also arrived in the island on Monday for a four-day visit from August 19th to 23rd at the invitation of the President.
During her stay in the island Princess Tsuguko will also visit the Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura.
The two princesses will view the final Randoli Perahara of the Esala Perahara taking place tonight.
