Aug 17, Colombo: Leader of Sri Lanka Opposition and United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wickremasinghe will leave for India for a three day official visit on Monday August 19.
His visit follows the visit by the country's External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris to New Delhi to deliver the official invitation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in November to the Indian Prime Minister. Peiris is scheduled to arrive in India Sunday.
During his visit, the Opposition Leader is scheduled to hold discussions with the leaders of Indian political parties including the Congress Party and the opposition Bharatha Janatha Party.
Wickremasinghe is also expected to meet with high level Indian state officials and engage in special discussions.
