Mar 22, Colombo: The United Nations Human Rights Council has become an institution that implements a new 'colonial policy' of ruling by creating divisions in international community, Sri Lanka ruling party Minister for Youth Affairs Dallas Alahapperuma said.
Addressing a media briefing held in at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo Friday, the Minister said the UNHRC has used Sri Lanka as the first test subject to experiment with the new policy of division.
He said the UN resolution, calling for Sri Lanka to investigate war crimes allegedly committed by the security forces during the war against the Tamil Tiger terrorists, attempts to divide the country.
He added that Sri Lanka is acting with a greater understanding about the domestic political situation of India and the President has instructed the cabinet of ministers not to bring policy changes against India.
Joining the briefing Minister Susil Premajayantha accused the LTTE diaspora of attempting to influence the international community against Sri Lanka.
