* Centara Hotels of Thailand to open resort in Sri Lanka next month

Mar 13, Colombo: Thailand's leading operator of hotels Centara Hotels & Resorts will open its resort and spa in the Eastern Province beach town Pasikuda next month.

The four-star Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka set on the beautiful Passikudah Bay, on Sri Lanka’s north-eastern coast will open for tourists on 1 April 2013.

The Resort, located 35 kilometers north of Batticaloa, comprises 126 spacious rooms and suites with each featuring a private balcony or terrace. The shallow waters of the bay are ideal for windsurfing and kayaking.

There is an all-day dining restaurant, lounge bar, Spa Cenvaree, fitness center, and the Bay Ballroom which has a maximum capacity of 150 persons.

Centara's second project in Sri Lanka, Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa, located on the Paradise Island peninsula at Bentota will open in October 2013.

The 166-unit Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa, flanked by a river on one side and the beach on the other, is accessible only by ferry.

Centara Hotels & Resorts with 40 deluxe and first-class properties covers all the major tourist destinations in Thailand and has 18 resorts in Maldives, Vietnam, Bali Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Mauritius.
