Mar 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka parliament deputy organizer of the opposition Ajith P. Perera told media today that the opposition would protest an action by the office of the Government Chief Whip when the parliament meets again on March 19.
Kalutara district UNP MP Perera said that several officials claimed to be of the parliament had come to his house yesterday midnight and since the MP did not respond to their calls, handed over several draft bills to a neighboring house.
The MP said that this act was an insult to the Constitution and parliamentary traditions.
The MP yesterday evening has raised a point of order and said he had not until then received six draft bills that were to be discussed.
