Mar 08, Colombo: Media reports from Jaffna said that a group of unidentified people assaulted a media person today in Jaffna.

The journalist is identified as S. Starlin who works for Jaffna-based Valampuri newspaper.

He was reportedly assaulted while he was returning home after work. The journalist has been admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

Starlin has repeatedly questioned today at a press conference about releasing of the suspects who were arrested for disrupting a political rally of the joint opposition, sources say.

However, Jaffna police told media that no complaint has been received on any such incident.
