Mar 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka Central Bank's issue of Rs.20 billion Treasury Bills at the weekly auction on Wednesday for the week ending 8 March, 2013 was oversubscribed over two-fold with marginally higher rates from last week.
At the weekly primary auction, the re-issue of Rs.20 billion maturing Treasury bills was oversubscribed with bids amounting Rs. 45.5 billion being received, the Central Bank said. The Bank has decided to accept Rs. 27.983 billion from the auction.
The one-year Treasury bill rate rose four basis points to 11.14% this week from the previous week's 11.10%. The Bank has accepted Rs. 24.288 billion on one-year T-bills.
Six month tenor bills rate inclined by two basis points to 10.10% from last week's 10.08% and the three month tenor bills climbed to 9.11%, from last week's 9.09%.
The Bank accepted Rs. 1.27 billion in 6-month and Rs. 2.425 billion in 3-month bills.
