Mar 05, Colombo: Test Cricketer Thilan Samaraweera has expressed his interest in resigning from all forms of international cricket but the Sri Lanka Cricket board has asked him to reconsider his decision.
Samaraweera has handed over a letter to SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga expressing his intention to retire from all forms of International Cricket.
However, SLC has requested him to have a meaningful dialogue with the National Selectors prior to finalizing such a decision.
Samaraweera is scheduled to meet the National Selectors tomorrow (6th of March).
The 36-year old cricketer was one of the 22 players signed the SLC contract yesterday. He was included in a special category with Prasanna Jayawardena for only Tests. However he was not included in the first Test with Bangladesh beginning March 8 in Galle.
