* Sri Lanka Navy arrests six people trying to enter country illegally

Mar 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy Sunday arrested six people attempting to enter the country illegally from the sea off the northwestern coast.

Naval troops attached to SLNS Gajaba of the North-central Naval Command arrested the six persons who had attempted to illegally enter Sri Lanka from India.

The group consisting of four Sri Lankans and two Indians was arrested in the general area 6th sand dune in the seas off Thalaimannar, the Navy said.

The arrested persons have been handed over to Thalaimannar Police for further investigations.
