Mar 03, Colombo: Six officers of Sri Lanka Navy received injuries during a weapons training session in Kayts, Jaffna this morning and were admitted to the Jaffna Hospital, Navy media Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.
Local media reports said the officers were injured when a RPG had backfired during the training session this morning.
The injured officers are attached to the Velanai Navy camp in Kayts island of Jaffna.
However, the injuries are not life threatening and the officers have been discharged from hospital following treatment, the spokesman said.
