* Sri Lankan President congratulates award winning actor Jagath Chamila

June 25, Colombo: Sri Lankan President today congratulate the award winning actor Jagath Chamila who won the Best Actor Award at the New York City International Film Festival in the United States when he met the President at Temple Trees.

Jagath Chamila won the award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the New York City International Film Festival held last week in New York. He won the award for his role in "Semeege Kathawa", directed by Priyankara Vithanachchi.

Following his accolade the President invited him to Temple Trees and Chamila called on the President at Temple Trees this afternoon along with his family and the award.

The President presented the actor with a cash award of 500,000 rupees.

His mentor in the artistic field Tissa Gunawardena and many artistes were also present at the occasion.
