* Sri Lanka Navy arrests Indian suspect trying to flee country

Jan 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has arrested an Indian national who was trying to flee the country without a passport.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kanchchadewa of the Northern Naval Command arrested the Indian national on Wednesday while he was trying to flee the country from the Allappiddy Beach area.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested individual, a resident of Bhajanpura, Delhi, has a pending court case at the Kalutara Magistrate Court and his passport is in the custody of the court.

He was handed over to Kayts Police for further investigations.
