* Sri Lanka police appoint new spokesman

Feb 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police has appointed Superintendent of Police, G.M.H.B. Siriwardena as the new police spokesman, police headquarters said.

SP Siriwardena, who was the Director of the Police Examination earlier, assumed duties as new police spokesman today.

Former police spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police Prishantha Jayakody has been transferred to the Police Examination Centre.

SSP Jayakody was appointed as the Spokesman for the second time in October 2012.
