* Sri Lanka Supreme Court judge recuses from bench hearing Golden Key case

Feb 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka Supreme Court judge Nimal Gamini Amaratunga said today at the Supreme Court that he would recuse himself from the bench that is hearing the petition pertaining to the Golden Key depositors.

The judge said that he was not willing to participate in the case as a judge. Accordingly, the case was postponed to March 07 until a new judge is appointed to the bench.

Justices K.Sripavan and S.I. Imam are the other judges of the bench.

Justice Amaratunga also withdrew from the bench hearing a petition filed by a group of settlers who were affected due to a development project in Slave Island. The case was postponed to February 27.
