Feb 16, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to personally review the progress of development plans of the government at the ministry level.
Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga held a meeting on Thursday (14) to inform the media on President's plan to review the progress at ministerial level.
He explained that the review meetings are aimed at ensuring that all ministries achieve their development goals according to the medium range concept plan of the Mahinda Chintana manifesto for 2013-2015 and the first such meeting would be held on the Monday (18) at the Education Ministry.
He pointed out that the President has already carried out development reviews at district level throughout the past year and the reviews at Ministry level is the next stage of the process.
Secretary Weeratunga added that the President's move would help the authorities to achieve 75 percent of government development targets by 2015.
