Tue, Feb 12, 2013, 12:49 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Feb 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket sources say the chairman of the new selection committee Sanath Jayasuriya and Sri Lanka Cricket Vice Secretary Hirantha Perera have been named to negotiate with former paceman Chaminda Vass to recruit him as the coach of the fast bowlers.

The discussion mandated by the executive committee of Sri Lanka Cricket will be held either tomorrow or Wednesday, sources say.

The negotiations are to focus on the salary which would be at Rs. 500,000 per month in par with the other coaches. Sri Lanka Cricket has proposed the same salary for Vaas as well.

Sri Lanka Cricket sources say that the board expects to obtain the services of Chaminda Vaas before the upcoming tour of the Bangladesh cricket team.

The 39-year-old bowler was recently employed by the visiting New Zealand side in a temporary coaching role
