Feb 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka's 'Mystery Spinner' Ajantha Mendis was the second biggest earner at the sixth auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held Sunday in Chennai.
Pune Warriors have picked Ajantha Mendis for US$725,000, who was listed at base price of US$50,000.
Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell received the biggest price at the auction having bought by Mumbai Indians for US$ $1million.
Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for $675,000 over his base-price of US$50,000 while off-spinner Sachithra Senanayake who was listed at a base price of US$ 50,000 also pitched a heavy price, getting picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders for US$625,000.
Jeevan Mendis goes to the Delhi Daredevils for his base price of US$ 50,000 and the teenage offspinner, Akila Dananjaya was bought by Chennai Super Kings for US$ 20,000.
