Nov 17, Colombo: An organization called Association for Freedom of Judiciary has called a mass agitation against the impeachment of Sri Lanka's Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake.

The protest demonstration is scheduled to be held on Monday, November 19th near the Colombo Fort Railway Station at 4 p.m.

The Association of Young Lawyers, a member organization of the Association for Freedom of Judiciary, has planned to collect signatures at the demonstration to a petition against the impeachment.

Association for Freedom of Judiciary says that a number of trade unions and other civil organizations including Health Services Trade Union Alliance, Federation of University Teachers' Associations, Ceylon Teachers' Union, Association of Young Lawyers, Collective of Independent Academics and the Private Bus Owners' Association will join hands with them in this protest.
