Nov 12, Colombo: The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) will hand over the resolutions adopted at the Association's executive committee meeting on Saturday to the President today.

The BASL states that the resolutions adopted against the impeachment motion of Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake would also be handed over to Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa.

The BASL on Saturday adopted eight resolutions that include the call on the President and Speaker to reconsider the impeachment motion.

The Association also condemning the impeachment motion suggested methods of action to be taken regarding the impeachment of the Chief Justice.

The eight resolutions were passed by over 1,000 lawyers from around the country following a lengthy discussion.

BASL President, Wijedasa Rajapakshe has said the resolutions would be given to the President and Speaker today.
