Jan 14, Jaffna: Sri Lanka Army has opened two new holiday resorts in the Jaffna Peninsula of Northern Province for the welfare of its troops.
Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya on Sunday ceremonially opened the two new holiday resorts for all ranks. The two resorts have been built in Mailady, Kankasanthurai on abandoned barren state land plots, given to the Army, the Army said.
One of the resorts is completely sponsored by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) and the other by the Army Troops.
The Army says opening of the two resorts is a part of its campaign to further strengthen island-wide welfare facilities, being made available to all ranks for their rest and relaxation, particularly in the company of their family members.
