Jan 11, Colombo: A governing party parliamentarian of Sri Lanka has alleged of an international conspiracy to create lawlessness in the country.
Ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) parliamentarian for Puttalam District Arundika Fernando has alleged that the Chief Justice is being used as a puppet in an international conspiracy to send the country into a state of lawlessness.
The MP has told parliament that the legislature has been given the powers by the Constitution as the enforcer of the people's supremacy to remove the Chief Justice for her wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, Leader of the House, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has tabled a proposal to send a request to the President to remove the Chief Justice who has been found guilty on three charges by the parliament select committee (PSC) that probed the charges against the Chief Justice.
The proposal has been seconded by Minister Tissa Karalliyadde.
