Jan 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka Custom officials have arrested an Iranian national with 2 kilograms of narcotics in his possession of Tuesday night at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
The drugs with a street value of Rs 26 million have been carefully stored inside a traveling bag with a concealed compartment, the Customs officials said.
The Iranian, who arrived at the airport last night from Doha, had attempted to smuggle a consignment of methamphetamine.
The Airport Narcotics Detection branch of Sri Lanka Customs is conducting further investigations.
