* Assistance of Sri Lanka security forces to develop 20 towns

Jan 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka Ministry of Defence and Urban Development has decided to improve 20 towns in the island in addition to the capital city Colombo under 2013 Defence and Development Plan.

The Director General of Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalla said Jaffna, Eheliyagoda, Diyatalawa, Imaduwa, Urubokka, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Narammala, Hettipola-Panduwasnuwara, Anuradhapura, Matara, Dankotuwa, Bandarawela, Weeraketiya, Rambukkana, Nugegoda, Meegahakivula, Bulathsinghala, Homagama and Moratuwa towns will be developed under the plan.

He further stated that this massive development plan is implemented under a proposal and guidance of the secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Gotabhaya Rajapaksa with the assistance from the security forces.
