Dec 27, Colombo: The president of Bar Association of Sri Lanka MP Wijedasa Rajapakse has said that he is planning to file a case against the Police Media Spokesperson.
The parliamentarian has said that he is ready to take legal action against Police Media Spokesman SSP Prishantha Jayakody for violating his legal rights, local radio Hiru FM reported.
According to MP Rajapakse, the Spokesman has issued a communiqué which said that the MP and his son had given contradictory statements on the recent shooting incident near the Rajapakse residence.
The MP has said the spokesman's statement has violated his rights since expressing views regarding statements of a particular incident challenges the judiciary.
The parliamentarian reported of hearing gun shots outside of his residence in Nawala in the night of December 19 and the police found three empty bullet shells from the scene following morning.
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
