* Sri Lanka opposition party to compile a special report on impeachment

Dec 13, Colombo: The main opposition United National Party (UNP) has planned to compile a report on the impeachment of Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake.

The UNP working committee yesterday assigned the task of compiling the report to party's legal secretary Daya Pelpola.

UNP working committee has suggested including senior lawyers of several Commonwealth countries in the committee that is to be appointed by the President to probe the parliamentary select committee (PSC) proceedings of the impeachment motion.

The proposal has been approved by all the working committee members that attended the working committee meeting.
