Dec 11, New York: Sri Lankan born Musician Dr. Harsha Abeyaratne will make his solo debut at the prestigious Carnegie Hall's Weil Recital Hall in Manhattan, New York on Friday December 14, at 8:00 p.m.

His solo recital will feature Robert Muczynski's Third Piano Sonata and Franz Liszt's Mephisto Waltz. In October of this year, he has performed this recital-program at the Muskingum University, and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Dr. Harsha Abeyaratne, an Associate Professor of Music at the Muskingum University in Ohio was born in Sri Lanka and received Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Lewis and Clark College. He received both his Master of Music and his Doctor of Arts in Music degrees from Ball State University in Indiana. He joined the Muskingum University faculty in 2003.

In addition to being a pianist and an educator Dr. Abeyaratne also has an active career as soloist, accompanist, and a chamber musician. He has performed across the United States and also with the National Symphony Orchestra of his native Sri Lanka.
