* Sri Lanka to re-cultivate 1000 acres of uncultivated lands in the North

Sept 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Green Lands Development Central Authority also known as Hadabima Authority had taken steps to cultivate 1,000 acres in the Northern and North Central Provinces under the programme of re-cultivating uncultivated lands.

Plans are underway to cultivate arid land in the districts of Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Anuradhapura districts with the help of security personnel in 30 Army camps handling the cultivation drive.

Sri Lanka Ministry of Agriculture has granted Rs. 15 million for this project and according to a spokesman of the Hadabima Authority the project would be completed by December this year.
