Sept 25, Colombo: The Examinations Department of Sri Lanka is to hold more discussions with university academics to commence the grading of GCE Advanced Level examination papers.
Examinations Commissioner W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara has said that discussions would be held today and tomorrow. Discussions with the university academics commenced yesterday.
The Commissioner has noted that the grading of examination papers is expected to commence during the first week of October.
According to Pushpakumara, 400 university academics have been invited for discussions and those who have attended yesterday's discussion had agreed to mark the A/Level papers.
He has added that the academics are currently engaged in preparing the marking schemes for the examination papers.
Meanwhile, the Federation of University Teachers' Association (FUTA) that is currently engaged in a strike to win their demands has said none of the FUTA members would participate in the grading of A/Level papers.
