Sept 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has called on the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) to name the persons who are attempting to destroy the judiciary.

JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said the JSC had in a recent statement said it could reveal the names of the persons trying to destroy the judiciary.

He noted that the judiciary is an independent body and no one should be allowed to challenge that independence.

He therefore called on the JSC to expose those who were challenging this independent judicial process.

"People would be able to stand against any attempt to threaten the independence of the judiciary if these conspirators against the judiciary are exposed," Herath said.
